The Story
La Casa del Mar, our small boutique hotel, is hidden away in one of the narrow bustling streets of the ancient fortified medina of Essaouira on the Atlantic coast of Morocco just 2 hours drive from Marrakech. This old Souiri house has been totally restored with
special attention paid to maintaining its charm and cosiness.
Six comfortable bedrooms all with ensuite shower rooms and their own sitting areas, and a beautiful roof terrace, where you can have breakfast, with uninterrupted views out over the rocky coastline of the commanding Atlantic Ocean.

Essaouira
The lovely old fortified coastal town of Essaouira with its shining lime-washed white walls is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and has become known as one of Morocco's most enchanting places to visit.  Due to the trade winds, the beautiful curved 7km beach and the medina are kept pleasantly cool in the hotter months. In the ancient port you can still see the centuries old production of large wooden fishing trawlers still in action, as well as the famous, large fleet of small blue boats used for catching sardines.
